We’ve done our drawing for the 1k Hashtag Giveaway and have a list of winners!
Thanks to everyone that made edits on What the Hashtag. We had 99 eligible users and selected 10 at random to win our prizes: either a $10 iTunes Gift Card or a Featured User slot on Microblink.
Making the Video
This is the first video to come out of Microblink HQ and we had a blast putting it together. See the photos below for some snaps of us in action.

We at WTH try to find new ways to bring you relevant information when you’re checking out content on our site. We’ve recently added a few icons to help you find more info about the page you’re on.
The latest feature we’ve added is integration with Yahoo’s event planning service, Upcoming. Now, if you’re on a page and that text is found somewhere on Upcoming, we’ll pull in a list of events so you can participate if it works out for you. We’ll also be adding a few links to a map and some links to add the event to your calendar.

It’s only been about three weeks since we launched What the Hashtag?! and we’re happy with the reception it’s gotten so far. We’re currently nearing our 900th hashtag in the catalog. To sweeten the pot and get more people interested, we’ve decided to hold a giveaway when we reach our 1000th hashtag.
You must enrich the site (and community) by making at least 1 meaningful edit. By meaningful we mean you have to add something worthwhile to the current listing (adding information to a hashtag or creating a new listing).
Getting others to retweet about the contest will get you bonus points.
The Prizes
Here’s what we’ve got on tap for prizes:
Five $10 USD iTunes gift cards
Five 48×48 featured user slots on Microblink for two months
Choosing a Winner
To choose a winner, we’ll pool all the users currently registered that have at least one qualifying edit. We’ll choose a random user from the pool to win an iTunes gift card. Lather, rinse, and repeat for 4 more cards and the 5 featured users slots. To remove any suspicion of nonsense or shenanigans, I’ll record it all on webcam and embed the video for you all to see.
So, get out there and register to enter yourself for the contest. We’re not entirely sure when the thousandth hashtag will come in, but we estimate that it will be sometime in the next week.
We’ve decided to launch a place separate from Microblink where we can announce news specific to What the Hashtag?!. We’ll be updating the theme and figuring out what exactly we’re going to do with this thing. If you’re itching to know when new content appears here, subscribe to our RSS feed and you’ll get new content when it comes out.
